San Millán de la Cogolla. Monasterio de Yuso. UNESCO Heritage

The current Monasterio de Yuso stands on the site of a former Romanesque monastery of the 10th and 11th centuries; it was built between the 16th and 17th centuries. When the community of monks increased in number they had to move from Suso to this new location. It is noted for its cloister, its vestry (one of the finest of the 18th century in Spain) and its 16th-century church. In the ensemble as a whole is where CILENGUA, the International Spanish Language Research Centre, carries out its work.
